Our standard: aluminium
Every model in our range is built with an aluminium frame as standard, in a choice of five finishes — matte white, matte black, sand silver, bright chrome, and light brushed. It's the material we've built our business on since 1986, and for the vast majority of Hong Kong bathrooms, it's still the frame we'd recommend: aluminium is significantly lighter than stainless steel, which matters for sliding and corner screens where the frame's weight is carried by the rollers and tracks day after day. It's also more cost-effective, giving you the widest choice of models and finishes for your budget.
Stainless steel: a premium option on select models
On three of our most popular styles — A012, A032 and B012 — we now also offer a stainless steel frame as an upgrade, priced as a supplement over the standard aluminium price. Stainless steel gives you access to seven distinctive finishes not available in aluminium, including mirror-polished steel, gunmetal brushed, starry grey, and rose gold (plain or brushed). It's a heavier, more substantial material, and a natural choice if you're after one of these specific finishes or want a statement feature in your bathroom.
How they compare
| Aluminium (standard) | Stainless steel (upgrade) | |
|---|---|---|
| Available on | All 24 models | A012, A032, B012 only |
| Finish options | 5 finishes | 7 finishes, incl. mirror & rose gold |
| Weight | Lighter — easier on tracks & rollers | Noticeably heavier |
| Price | Standard price | Priced as a supplement |
| Best for | Most bathrooms — our everyday recommendation | Feature bathrooms, or a specific finish you want |
Frame thickness by model
Because the two materials are fabricated differently, frame thickness isn't identical between the aluminium and stainless steel versions of the same model:
| Model | Aluminium frame | Stainless steel frame |
|---|---|---|
| A012 | 48mm | 59mm |
| A032 | 37mm | 35mm |
| B012 | 48mm | 60mm |
These figures are also shown on each model's own product page, and you can see them update live when you switch the frame material in the design tool.
Which should you choose?
If you're not choosing A012, A032 or B012, this isn't a decision you need to make — aluminium is your only frame material, and it's a proven one. Even if you are configuring one of those three models, our honest recommendation for most homes is to stick with aluminium: it's lighter on the hardware, more budget-friendly, and covers the finishes most Hong Kong bathrooms ask for. Stainless steel is worth the upgrade specifically if you want one of its exclusive finishes — mirror polish or rose gold, for example — or you're designing a feature bathroom where the heavier, more substantial look of steel is part of the appeal.
